Dr Martin Lavigne

Dr Martin Lavigne got his diploma in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2000 from the University of Montreal. He afterward took a sub-specialized training for reconstruction of the adult hip and knee at the University of California in San Diego, United States, and also at the Inselspital at Berne, Switzerland. In 2008 Dr Lavigne has gained his master in biomedical sciences at the University of Montreal.

In 2007 Dr Lavigne got a scholarship as a clinical researcher from FRSQ. His main purpose in research is to appraise the fundamental and clinical side of arthrosplasties of the hip. Dr Lavigne got many awards, namely the John Charley Award from the American Hip Society in 2009. Dr Lavigne regularly contributes to national and international meetings.

Dr Lavigne teaches at the Department of Surgery of the University of Montreal as associate professor. He supervises the clinical work of external doctors and residents as well. He also is director and assistant-director of students in training for their MSc and PhD.
